A 42,500-hectare semi-desert landscape that impresses and surprises with each visit. A unique spectacle in southeastern Navarre, near Tudela, which, despite its stark and inhospitable appearance, conceals significant natural treasures.
In Bardenas Reales, the erosion of its clay, gypsum, and sandstone soils has sculpted whimsical shapes, creating an almost lunar-like world populated by ravines, flat plateaus, and solitary hills. A source of inspiration for painters and writers, it has also been the setting for television commercials, music videos, and films such as "Airbag," "Mutant Action," "Pride and Passion," "The World Is Never Enough," "Anacleto Secret Agent," and series like "Game of Thrones."
On your own, you'll find numerous marked trails you can explore on foot, by bike, on horseback, or by motor vehicle (check limits and regulations with the Bardenas Reales Regional Government: 948 82 00 20). Led by specialized guides, you'll discover unforgettable corners reminiscent of legends such as that of the famous bandit Sanchicorrota, who managed to mislead his pursuers by wearing his horse's shoes backward.
